Why use Strong Line?
Most people use Strong Line to eliminate external bars. How much can be eliminated is a tough question because it depends on the size, design and intended installation of your panel. Remember to error on the side of stronger. Your art glass teacher can give you much more information.
SL25 Strong Line is an internal steel reinforcing strip for copper foil or leaded art glass panels. The unique dispensing carton makes adding Strong Line to your projects easy.

SL25 Strong Line 25 foot roll - 0.020 inches thick - 0.103 inches wide
Note: Strongline was introduced as 0.114 wide but changed to 0.103 in 2007
Lead came panel
The Strong Line is placed in lead channel during assembly. The panel must then be cemented to add strength and prevent the Strong Line from twisting in the channel.
Copper foil panel
Strip is placed between foiled glass pieces before soldering.
Once soldered on both sides of the panel the steel strip cannot be seen.
